Mediterranean Red Coral
The Mediterranean Red Coral (Corallium rubrum) family of "coralliidae" in Latin is a cnidarian species of a red, orange, pink color.
Particularly used in Jewelry, it can be used easily in cosmetics as well as in your diet.
The colony is supported by a central hard skeletal axis, or polypier, consisting of calcium carbonate (use for toothpastes, various cosmetic products and mild abrasives) and colored in bright red by carotene.
Endemic species of the Mediterranean, we meet this coral mainly on the Italian coasts, Tunisia, Algeria and Corsica.
